I started this journey 10 months ago. Part of our time that first month was spent living on post in Fort Benning, Georgia. During our time there we went to the National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center. I remember arriving and starting to walk around the grounds outside. As you walk up, the path is lined with all the state flags. It was the first time on this trip that I could visually see the impact World Race America could have. I walked up and down the sidewalk, praying over each and every flag. I prayed for Colorado. I prayed for California, and for Arizona. It was such a special moment. I had no clue what the Lord had planned for us. I just prayed that the Lord guide us to where we were supposed to go and show us what to do when we go there.
Fast forward 10 months and I have officially circled the country. I’ve been to 28 of the states that those flags represented and over 80 cities. About 2 weeks ago, I got the opportunity to go into Washington D.C. for the day. We were able to prayer walk through the White House and tour the city for the day. I was walking from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial when we came across the World War II memorial. The name of each state was carved into stone columns around the monument.
It was the only time since Georgia that this had happened. As I walked around, I couldn’t help but remember that first moment.
I walked again, but this time my prayers were different. I wasn’t only praying for Colorado. I was praying for Audrey, Soto, Hannah, and Ally.
I wasn’t only praying for California, but I was praying for Elaine, Katherine, Gary, and Britt.
Instead of just praying for Arizona, I prayed for Fio, Hannah, Becks, and Mayghin.
The prayers became so much more personal. Idaho wasn’t just a flag or a symbol. It was a warm cabin in Tetonia full of laughter, music, and Rob’s most unexpected birthday party. What used to be just a flag now was so much more.
I’ve only got about 5 weeks left of this trip and I am starting to realize just how much the Lord has done in and through me this year. The people that I have been able to encounter… The faithfulness of the Lord through it all… I am just so grateful for these past 10 months. They haven’t been easy, but they have been worth it. Please keep me and my team in your prayers as we finish up these last few weeks together. We’ll be home before you know it!
